Par is the self-proclaimed Directus Air-Hockey Champion. Although he was almost unseated by a co-worker’s 9-year-old son, he managed to squeak out a win and maintain the crown. Par claims that he planned to let the boy win, but the boy scored the last two goals on himself. However, this is yet to be verified. When not playing air hockey and foosball, he works as a database development engineer, primarily developing MS SQL Server, Integration Services, and Alteryx workflows.
Par has a little over 20 years of experience as a database professional, and has worked for various government and commercial clients over the years. Those clients include the FCC, FAA, FBI, BAE Systems, and the American Petroleum Institute. Par has a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Purdue University and an M.S. in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University. Somehow he found his way to Directus and we decided to keep him.
When Par is not doing IT work at Directus, and playing foosball or air-hockey, he enjoys doing Tae Kwon Do, skeet shooting, playing the electric guitar, and spending time with his wife and two daughters. Directus has asked him to defend the company with his Tae Kwon Do skills, should we ever need to tangle with another consulting company, but he claims he needs to stretch out for 15 minutes first, before he can put those skills to use. That’s not very useful for us, considering IT confrontations can occur within mere seconds. We’re very agile that way.
Par played in a very successful rock band about 15 years ago, but decided to give that up to pursue his dream of working as an IT professional. He has been with Directus since August, 2016, and claims he has never been happier.
